More work days planned at the Hubbell studio

We have made great progress in the garden and with rebuilding, thanks to all our good friends. We have a couple more work days planned to continue the momentum.

August 14 - General clean-up and planting

Let us know if you are coming. Parking is limited. Please bring a lunch, gloves and a hat.

April 17, 2004 - Open House Benefit at Villa d’Este
This is a Tuscan estate is situated 1800 feet above sea level in PowayThe house will be open from 2-9pm. Activities include: Tennis, Putting Green, Bocce Ball, Swimming pool, spa, a viewing of a James Hubbell PBS documentary and a silent auction. At 7pm an Italian dinner will be served with wine and grappa. Requested donation of $45. For more information please contact Anne O’Dell (Anne2215@aol.com)

April 29, 2004 - “Eye of the Beholder” Screening
A screening of this PBS documentary and discussion with James Hubbell in San Francisco. The silent auction will include original watercolors by James and signed DVD’s of the documentary. May 6, 2004 - An Evening of Architectural Films
Hosted by The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in conjunction with the San Diego chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The evening will include the film screening, a presentation by James Hubbell, and appetizers catered by French Gourmet. The evening will begin at 6:30pm at the Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla Sherwood Auditorium. Seating: $10 general. Preferred Seating: $50 Friend; $100 Contributor; $500 Patron. Over the years we tried to keep copies of all publications related to any aspect of the work of James Hubbell, the work of Ilan-Lael, and the life of James and Anne Hubbell. Unfortunately, most of that was lost.

In our process to apply for historic status and to rebuild our library we would appreciate the donation of any extra originals or photocopies that you could spare. For a list of documentaries, videos, and selected publications, please visit the. Who We Are section.
